Joyce S. Kim, DMD
Dr. Kim was born in California and raised in Dacula, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia and graduated with a BSFCS in Nutrition Science and minored in Korean Language and Literature. She then attended the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). Dr. Kim is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, painting, watching sports, and cheering for the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and the Georgia Bulldawgs.
Sterling C. Whitworth, DMD
Dr. Whitworth is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he obtained degrees in Biology and Spanish. Dr. Whitworth then enrolled in the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry where he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. He is active in all phases of General Dentistry with a special focus on Cosmetic, Endodontic and Implant treatment. Dr. Whitworth is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is associated with organized dentistry and committed to continuing professional education. He is an active, involved member of the North Gwinnett community and enjoys spending his free time with friends and family.
Iryna Yelisetty, DMD
Dr. Yelisetty was born and raised in Southern Siberia. She moved to the United States at the age of nineteen. She is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian languages. Dr. Yelisetty earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before attending dental school, she graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry. Dr. Yelisetty attends annual continuing education classes in order to keep her skills on the cutting edge. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association. Dr. Yelisetty strives to make a difference in a person's life by helping them achieve a beautiful and healthy smile. She is skilled in all areas of General Dentistry with an emphasis on esthetic cases.
Dr. Yelisetty is married and has a baby boy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
James C. Finot D.M.D
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Finot graduated from Westminster College and Washington University Dental School. After further training with the United States Army Dental Corp and two years of service to veterans and dependants at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts, he entered private practice in Indiana.
The allure of the southern climate brought him to Atlanta, Georgia, where he opened dental practices in Atlanta and Marietta. Since 1993, Dr. Finot has been associated with a large, multi-office dental group serving the metro area. He is delighted to now be a part of the Sugar Hill Dentistry team, many of whom he has worked with and considered ‘family’ for decades!
Dr. Finot and his wife Jennifer live in Roswell. In addition to all things automobile racing, his passion is his three beautiful grandchildren.
Alex Mehraban, DMD
Dr. Mehraban has received his dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine in 1993. Upon completion of his dental degree he sought more advanced training in general dentistry as a GPR (General Practice Residency) at Genesee Hospital, the School of Medicine and Dentistry at University of Rochester, NY.
Due to his interest in comprehensive dentistry and field of surgery, he then went on to specialize in the field of implantology and periodontics at Eastman Dental Center, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Rochester, one of the pioneers centers in clinical research.
His commitment to continuing education has led Dr. Mehraban to participate in advanced courses in his field to bring the latest, most advanced techniques and technology to his patients. He is the founder and director of Johns Creek Seminars, a study club that provides a variety of seminars in advances in the field of dentistry to local dentists and their teams. Dr. Mehraban also lectures to local dental societies on cosmetic gum procedures and dental implants.
Dana graduated from Gainesville State College and has been practicing as a hygienist for seventeen and a half years working with Sugar Hill Dentistry for fifteen. She is married to the love of her life Scott and enjoys her two sons Davis and Palmer.
In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at her children's school and attending all their sporting events. She also has a special interest in scrapbooking, reading, sewing and spending time with her church family.
Born and reared in the Atlanta area, Rebecca joined Sugar Hill Dentistry in 2003 after graduating from Lanier Technical College in the dental hygiene program. She is also a graduate of Gainesville College with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Rebecca completed the National Board as well as the Southeast Regional Board and is licensed by the state of Georgia. Rebecca enjoys interacting with her patients and strives to make each experience at Sugar Hill Dentistry a pleasant one.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two children, family and friends. She enjoys music, shopping, camping and traveling.
Hope was born in Virginia and reared in Athens, GA where she completed her degrees in dental assisting and dental hygiene at Athens Technical College. She has worked for Sugar Hill Dentistry since graduating from hygiene school. Hope very much enjoys being a hygienist where she has learned and grown considerably in the six years she has worked for us. She strives to give each patient a thorough cleaning and her undivided attention.
In her free time, Hope enjoys spending time with her husband Will, friends and family as well as baking and attending church.
Karla was born in Durango, Mexico and raised in Gainesville, GA. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and is fluent in Spanish. We are proud to have Karla here as a member of our team since December 2011 and she loves working on extensive cases with adults and making children smile at their appointments.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joey; family, friends. She volunteers in the community each month at the Good News Clinic in Hall County.
Jessica, Dental Assistant
Jessica has been a dental assistant for eleven years, with the last seven years with Sugar Hill Dentistry.
Originally from Louisiana, Jessica has spent half her life here in Georgia. She is happily married to John and together they share two precious boys. She enjoys time with her three boys, sports, reading and movies.
Edvina, Dental Assistant
For the past three years Edvina has worked for Sugar Hill Dentistry and before that in a pediatric dental practice. She loves working with children and assisting Dr. Joyce Kim with our young patients.
She is a blessed Mom of two beautiful children and a very lucky wife to have a handsome husband. She was born in Bosnia, but has been in Cumming, GA since 1999.
When taking time out from her busy life, she enjoys playing tennis and watching movies with her family. She is a graduate of Forsyth Central High School and Dental Careers of Marietta.
Brandy - Dental Assistant
Brandy was born and raised in Georgia. She has been an expanded functions dental assistant for six years. Brandy enjoys all aspects of dentistry and assisting each dentist here at Sugar Hill Dentistry. In her spare time, Brandy enjoys spending time with her two daughters, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, and attending various events which include: comedy, music and sports.
Renee - Office Manager
Renee, is our Office Manager and has worked for Sugar Hill Dentistry since 2005. She has over twenty-eight years of experience in dentistry. She attended Nichols Career Dental Assistant program in Jefferson City, MO and was a dental assistant for nineteen years before moving to Georgia in 2003.
She and her husband, Wes reside in Buford where she enjoys spending time traveling to the mountains and beaches along with reading, sewing and cheering on the IOWA Hawkeye football team.
Trudy - Business Administrator
Trudy has over 36 years of experience in dentistry. She trained as a Certified Dental Assistant through the USAF. From there she went on to manage general dental practices and then a specialty practice. Throughout all her years in dentistry she has gained valuable experience working in all aspects from assisting with dental procedures to Human Resources administration and Accounts Payable.
Trudy has spent many years following her husband of 40 years around the world while in the USAF. We both love the adventure of traveling.
Donna - Patient Coordinator
Donna has been with Sugar Hill Dentistry since 2002. She works at the front desk handling patients checking in and out, she answers all insurance questions, and serves as a liaison between the front office and treatment area. She has a heart for people and says, "the patients are the very BEST part of my job."
When she is not at work, she loves to travel and spend time with her three grandchildren.
Norah - A/R Specialist
Norah has worked for Sugar Hill Dentistry as a hygiene assistant and as front desk staff since 2004. She is a native of Quito, Ecuador and is fluent in Spanish.
She and her husband Dennis have lived in Sugar Hill for over twenty-one years, and have two lovely daughters, Stephanie and Shelly. Norah enjoys traveling abroad with her family, playing tennis, cooking and spending time with her dog Kody. As a graduate of the University of Georgia, she enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Go Dawgs!
Nancy - Patient Coordinator
Nancy has worked for Sugar Hill Dentistry since 2006 where she is an expert in the field of dental insurance. Her follow up and determination to get the most money for her patients is exemplary.
Formerly in teaching and banking, she enjoys meeting people and making them feel comfortable. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Jack, volunteering in the school system, helping with church activities and doing puzzles.
